People Manager Programme for a Software Projects & Delivery Company

Challenge:
A mid-sized software projects and delivery company, fully remote, was undergoing a business strategy shift towards customer excellence and adopting a people-first approach. The company needed a tailored people manager programme to support this transformation and equip managers with the skills necessary to drive these strategic changes

Solution:
I designed a bespoke people manager development programme with a focus on building leadership and communication skills in a remote work environment. The programme was developed following a series of interviews with the senior leadership team, including the CEO and Head of HR, to ensure alignment with the company’s strategic goals

Implementation:
The programme was delivered over 7 modules across 5 months. Three of the modules were delivered in-person, and three were delivered remotely to cater to the team's dispersed nature. The final session was a 1:1 coaching session, during which managers created an action plan that fed into their individual goals and objectives for the year

Outcome/Impact:
Managers were equipped with practical tools to foster a people-first culture, significantly improving communication and collaboration within the team. The action plans created were successfully integrated into individual performance goals, helping the company achieve greater alignment with their business strategy and driving the desired cultural shift.

Development of Competency Frameworks for the Screen Industry

Challenge:
The Irish screen industry wanted to create a structured approach to career planning and development. They required competency frameworks for various sectors within the industry to guide employee growth and professional development

Solution:
I worked with the organisation to create comprehensive competency frameworks, outlining key skills and behaviours for different roles within the industry. The frameworks were designed to support career planning, enabling clearer career paths and development opportunities for individuals across the sector

Implementation:
I conducted interviews with industry experts, and key stakeholders to identify critical competencies. The frameworks were then customised to reflect the unique needs and challenges of the screen industry, ensuring they were both practical and relevant

Outcome/Impact:

The competency frameworks provided clear, actionable guidelines for existing professionals and people entering into the industry, promoting transparency and helping them plan their career development more effectively. The frameworks were well-received across the industry and are now a key tool in supporting employee retention and growth within the sector

Empowering an Operations Team

Challenge:
A mid-sized organisation with an operations team consisting of HR, IT, and Facilities staff needed to empower the team to deliver their best work while shifting perceptions of their role within the business. The team was seeking greater visibility, recognition, and alignment with the broader business strategy

Solution:
I designed and delivered a team development programme that focused on empowering the operations team, improving communication, and enhancing their sense of partnership with the rest of the business. The programme was tailored to help the team become more proactive, collaborative, and aligned with company objectives

Implementation:
Through group workshops including elements of emotional intelligence and self-awareness, I facilitated discussions around team purpose, internal relationships, and strategies for elevating their influence within the business. I used tools like Strengthscope and the Partnership vs. Service Matrix to guide the team in understanding their strengths and building stronger relationships with other departments

Outcome/Impact:
The operations team emerged with a renewed sense of purpose and ownership over their roles. They reported feeling more empowered, with clearer goals and a deeper connection to the business. The team’s increased confidence and ability to act as true partners contributed to higher engagement, better collaboration, and improved performance across the organisation

Strengths & Self-Awareness Workshop for a Creative Media Organisation

Challenge:
A creative media organisation was looking to enhance collaboration within their team, improve communication, and foster a culture of understanding and respect for individual differences. The company wanted to equip their team with tools to better understand their own strengths and how to work more effectively together

Solution:
I designed and facilitated an in-person workshop focused on strengths-based development and self-awareness. The session was aimed at helping team members identify their individual strengths, understand how these strengths impact their interactions with others, and learn how to leverage their differences for greater collaboration and team success

Implementation:
The workshop was interactive and used tools like Strengthscope to help participants gain insight into their strengths, preferences, and potential blind spots. The team engaged in group activities, discussions, and reflection exercises to deepen their self-awareness and apply their strengths to real team scenarios. Following the workshop, we introduced a process where all new hires go through a 1:1 Strengthscope feedback session to ensure a consistent understanding and acceptance of individual differences across the organisation

Outcome/Impact:
The workshop led to significant improvements in team collaboration, with employees reporting higher levels of understanding and respect for one another’s differences. The organisation’s leadership noted an increase in team cohesion and a more positive work culture. The ongoing 1:1 Strengthscope feedback sessions for new hires have been a key factor in maintaining a shared understanding of strengths, ensuring that everyone feels valued and empowered from day one
